Joanne Southam Pitcairn Joanne (Ciocco) Southam, 60, of Pitcairn, died Sunday, March 4, 2007. Daughter of Julie (Furlick) Ciocco and the late James V. Ciocco. Wife of Richard T. Southam Jr., beloved mother of Kari (Nick) McKnight, of North Versailles; sister of Brenda Ciocco, James (Toni) Ciocco and Janet (James) Toth. Joanne lost her six-year battle with liposarcoma, a rare cancer. She retired after teaching 31 years with the South Allegheny School District; she volunteered at the Pitcairn Food Pantry and Pitcairn Hose 1 Ladies Auxillary. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the WM. O. PEARCE FUNERAL HOME INC., 318 Wall Ave., Pitcairn, where services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Pitcairn Food Pantry, c/o Betty Lou Howard, 761 Sixth St. Ext., Pitcairn, PA 15140.
