Fran Medwick

Class of 1971

Fran Medwick was (I beleive) a 1971 Gateway Graduate, passed away in July. Fran's younger sister, Anna Mae Medwick Knox, (not sure what GHS Class) also is deceased.

The search has been called off for a Washington Township man missing after a day of fishing Saturday on Lake Erie. Fran Medwick, 53, of Quarry Lane, is presumed drowned, according to the state Fish and Boat Commission. Officials believe he was fishing alone. The Coast Guard, Fish and Boat Commission and fire departments using boats and helicopters searched about 200 square miles of the lake for 16 1/2 hours before ending the search, according to Coast Guard Lt. Chris Sweeney. The search will resume only if there is some sort of sighting, Sweeney said.
