John Walsh passed away on Jan. 16, 1983 of a heart attack in Florida at the age of 33. He was the first junior fireman in Monroeville. He was a volunteer fireman at Monroeville #4 and then at Monroeville #5. He was also a Monroeville police officer prior to moving to Florida. He loved serving his community and was in the process of moving back to Monroeville when he died.
